As Facebook hurtles towards the billion user mark and a heavily speculated IPO in 2012, it feels like a good time to check in and get an independent view of what’s going on at everyone’s favorite web site.
The 60-minute documentary is BBC on top form as it looks at the whole range of current Facebook issues from different perspectives and gets access to everyone whose opinion matters, including founder Mark Zuckerberg himself.
As the BBC puts it:
In just seven years, Mark Zuckerberg has gone from his Harvard college dorm to running a business with 800 million users, and a possible value of $100 billion… Featuring a rare interview with Zuckerberg himself, the [documentary] tells the story of Facebook’s creation, looks at the accuracy of The Social Network movie, and examines Facebook’s plans to use the personal information it has collected to power a new kind of online advertising.
